I paid more than what my relatives paid for the exact same room. They had a beautiful view of the bay and city. We had the view of the outdoor garden party which hosted an extremely loud party of drinking and dancing. I was so tired from cruising through Alaska that the party was the last thing I needed to hear. We used earplugs to try to rest. I was not successful in blocking the noise of a party. We were placed in room 222. The view should have been much better than what we received. It was also a handicap room that we didn't ask for or need. View was important but it didn't make it. Let's say for the price I was greatly disappointed.

The view of the marina and harbour were wonderful. Always something happening - floatplanes arriving/taking off; cruise ships coming and going, and other boats pottering about. The staff were exceptionally helpful and efficient. There was adequate hanging space and drawers. We requested crockery mugs which were promptly brought, to replace the cardboard "take out" style beakers in the bedroom.
For the price, the room was small. There were no courtesy bath robes. There was no easy chair, just a "day bed"/chaise longue which was stained, and not comfortable. There were flimsy plastic cups in the bathroom. The standard of cleaning was poor, and slapdash - eg new toilet-paper wrapper left on the sink-surround. Bed making was very poor - eg. sheets not straightened.

The location was perfect. Great views of the harbor, mountains, and beautiful Stanley Park.
Room was a little small, but balcony view made up for it.

Superb location and very friendly staff
Attraction of low room rates was overshadowed by extra charges for parking and room service. In addition, the "standard king room" which we booked turned out to be two double beds.

The location is perfect for the seawall and Stanley Park. It is on the harbour and there are quite a few good restaurants around. We stayed there because of the proximity to Stanley Park and the seawall trails. The food was very good in the hotel and the service was also very good. When the bed was too high for my disabled husband to get into, they came and removed the frame so he could get in it. The bed was very comfortable. French balcony with skliding doors looking onto the harbour.
Paying for the internet connection. This is usually free. I elected to do without the connection. We also found that to park for $36 a day was rather high compared to other places we have stayed. One has to keep in mind that this is a high end hotel, so probably it is a fair price. We are seniors and this was a treat so we just knew about the cost before we booked.

The Lobby and services offered within the hotel - very convienent the staff were very courteous and helpful; great attitue and cheerful! Food Was wonderful at the restaurants within the hotel as well as we appreciated the pool and exercise room.
We have stayed at the westin before and I remeber the beds being more comfortable than the once we had. The bed we had this time around was extremely uncomfortable; felt like the mattress needed to be changed - We both woke up sore. I also felt the room design was outdated. The shower did not have enough pressure and the water left our skin feeling sticky. The other issue that I am sure isnt a common occurance; when we arrived our room was not ready as there was confusion as to the size of bed we wanted despite my call to the hotel the previous day to confirm. We ended up having to wait 2 hours for our room to be ready but the hotel did hold our luggage for us which was really nice.

Its proximity to the city and downtown areas is perfect for walking to. The bike rentals are near and were perfect for riding the whole circle around the city.
getting off the elevator an seeing all these brown doors to the end of the hallway. Maybe get a different color. (you asked)

Recommend it for families with kids
The view from our room was fine we could see the harbor and mountains. The staff really were pretty good when they helped us find a kid-friendly meal in the restaurant.
It wasn't cheap but still reasonable for the quality.
